Picture
There are plenty of options for health insurance in the state of Georgia! You may be surprised to know that over 1.4 million Georgians lack health coverage.

Arrow Insurance is here to make your health insurance coverage needs feel like a Savannah coastal breeze.

We want you and your family's safety, security, and happiness - even if it comes at a price tag to make sure you are covered for the preventative and unforeseen needs for care.

We pride ourselves on being the most coverage-oriented, cost-effective insurance agency you engage with, and we want you as our customer for life!

As an independent insurance agency, we have a lot of good reasons why you should choose us to help with your healthcare insurance needs over the big box options spending millions on commercials.

The advantage of the personalized plan is that we can help you figure out what works best for your family and not have to worry about following an outdated, one-size-fits-all approach.

What Individual Healthcare Options Do You Have In Georgia?

Affordable Care ActThe Affordable Care Act (ACA) has made it possible for people who don't get coverage through their employer or association to find a great option on the exchange. If you're struggling with your current situation and looking into getting new insurance, consider these five things before making any final decisions about what's best suited just for YOU!

1. Determine if you & your family qualify for a subsidy!

The ACA has subsidies (or tax credits) available to help make insurance more affordable based on your annual household income. You can find out if you qualify by using this Subsidy Estimator from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

2. Consider the different types of plans available

There are four types of plans that you'll find on the exchange: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The main difference between these plans is how much you'll pay out-of-pocket for medical services. For example, a Bronze plan will have lower monthly premiums but higher deductibles and out-of-pocket costs.

3. Get to know your network

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a health insurance plan is your network. Each exchange plan will have a different network of doctors, hospitals, and other providers that you can see. Make sure to check that your favorite doctor or hospital is in-network before enrolling in a plan.

4. Compare costs

Of course, you'll want to compare the monthly premiums of each plan, but don't forget to look at the other costs as well. For example, some plans have higher deductibles, while others have higher co-pays and out-of-pocket maximums.

5. Check for extra benefits

Some plans on the exchange come with extra benefits, like free preventative care or dental and vision coverage. If these are important to you, make sure to look for a plan that offers them.

Short-Term Medical Plans

You might think that a Short Term Medical Plan is just for people who are in between jobs or on vacation, but they come with some great benefits. First of all, you can't be denied because of pre-existing conditions!

These plans also have low deductibles so it's easy to get treatment when needed without worrying about major out-of-pocket expenses either way if your condition isn’t complicated enough yet - which means healthier living right away.

Additionally, short-term health plans, have no lifetime or annual limits on coverage. They’re also more flexible in terms of what services and providers you can see. This means that you can visit any doctor or specialist that you want without having to worry about whether they’re in-network or not.

The networks are based on a PPO-type policy. At the same time, they do not cover preventive care or prescriptions in most instances; however for many the savings make up for any out-of-pocket costs. Pair this with ancillary coverage like a critical illness or a dental plan, and you now have one great option!

Catastrophic Health Insurance

These plans are traditional major medical policies that cover you in case of accidents, critical illnesses, or hospitalizations.
These plans provide a way for individuals who rarely go to the doctor to protect themselves financially.

The monthly premiums are usually much lower than other types of plans because the deductible is so high.

This means that you would have to pay for all of your medical expenses up to that amount before your insurance would kick in.

For some people, this is a great option because it gives them peace of mind knowing that they're covered in case of an emergency, but it's important to make sure that you can afford to pay the deductible if you do need to use your insurance.

Health Share Plans

These plans have existed for decades. They were originally faith-based and focused on people living particular lifestyles that limited their exposure to various healthcare events due to these lifestyle choices.

Over time they've expanded into all sorts of different groups as more Americans struggle with high medical costs associated with everyday life necessities like groceries or gas.

The concept behind health share plans is that a group of people come together and agree to pay each other's medical bills.

This can be done in a number of ways, but the most common is through monthly premiums.

Some groups also require that you meet certain criteria in order to join, like being a nonsmoker or living a healthy lifestyle.

The most important thing to remember about health share plans is that they're not insurance, which means that they don't have to follow the same rules and regulations as traditional health insurance companies.

This means that you could be responsible for a lot of money if you need to use your health share plan, so make sure to read the fine print before you join one.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of different health insurance options available, and it can be tough to know which one is right for you. The most important thing is to do your research and make sure that you understand all of the details before you enroll in any plan.

Arrow Insurance exists to help you find the perfect health insurance plan for you and your family. We'll work with you to understand your needs and find a plan that fits both your budget and your lifestyle. Give us a call today to get started!
